Practising Tantra: His Holiness’s Chenrezig Sadhana Class 4

You are currently viewing Practising Tantra: His Holiness’s Chenrezig Sadhana Class 4

Khen Rinpoche Geshe Tashi Tsering, abbot of Sera Mey monastery, guides us through His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s sadhana, The Inseparability of the Spiritual Master and Avalokitashvara.  Written by His Holiness, this text is a perfect introduction to tantric practice.

In this class Geshe la goes into a lot of extremely helpful detail on how to visualise the concentration being as part of the front generation of the deity.  He also explains what winds are in relation to mind, and how subtlest mind and wind move us from one unenlightened or enlightened state to another.  Like us, you may well find these classes answering questions you’ve had about your tantric practice over many years.

Commenting on the Seven Limbed Prayer, Geshe la again digs a little deeper than you might expect, highlighting those connections, reasonings or explanations that are less well understood or more often glossed over.

We felt that hearing him rejoicing at length in His Holiness’s good qualities was reason enough alone to listen to this class!  And as he points out, there is much that goes on around us to rejoice in too.

Next week Geshe la will continue with the Seven Limbed Prayer, with the Mandala Offering then to follow.  We have three more weeks of this wonderful series to look forward to together, see you on Sunday!

With best wishes,
